Investors, who ought to be wary of such fiscal recklessness, were instead caught up in manias of their own. Remember 2009, when everyone swore we’d never let our markets get drunk on consumer debt and sketchy assets again? According to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, household debt has passed the pre-recession record of nearly $13 trillion — and that’s before what’s shaping up to be a holiday spending binge. Meanwhile, imaginary money known as bitcoin has been selling for $12,000 per . . . per what? Per unit of imaginary money, backed solely by the full faith and credit of other bitcoin believers. bitcoin is up nearly 1,000 percent this year. It’s the Dutch tulip craze, except that in Holland investors at least ended up with some bulbs when the bubble burst. When the bottom drops out of bitcoin, today’s giddy buyers might as well have a wallet full of Monopoly money.
Not unexpectedly reports surfaced yesterday that Michael Flynn may be getting ready to cooperate with Mueller. If so Dotard likely will not be too much longer for the Oval Office. What a day of celebration when this cretin leaves the White House!!!
Sure it’s Thanksgiving and we are somewhat all obliged to count our blessings. All the usual platitudes apply. However, for my part how in the world can I be thankful when Dump is president and likely will be for some time to come. Will he eventually start the nuclear that seems to be his fondest wish? What outrages will be forthcoming for the environment, race relations, or just about anything that approaches decent thinking? So sorry folks I cannot be very thankful this year. The country is going to hell.
What would a week be without another mass shooting in America? It's the latest in reality TV. This time a massacre came to rural America and specifically the Bible Belt. Semi-automatic rifle bullets pelted a small group of worshipers in a Baptist Church killing 26 people including children. Motive is unclear but one thing is very clear guns were involved. Probably nothing will happen politically because the NRA is just too strong a lobby. But what really pissed me off yesterday were the comments made by the pastor of a neighboring church. Essentially he felt sympathy for the loved ones left behind but was "happy" to know that those who died were with their "king" in paradise. As long as that kind of bullshit thinking takes precedence over meaningful gun control legislation the weekly gruesome reality show will continue.
With every passing day I am convinced that when the historians write about these times they will refer to it as The Asshole Age. Every day we are subjected (if you choose to watch cable news) to listening to some of the most mentally deranged people on the planet outright LIE. They choose to create an alternative reality. With the able assist of the scum at FOX News Trump continues to sell his cult status to an ignorant grievance filled base. Really these people who continue to support him are real losers. They should get over it and go out and stop making excuses for failure. As for Dump we are in serious danger. Just take one look at the man and he is obviously deranged. He should not be allowed to go on this trip to Asia.
Well it will also be known as The Asshole Age because of the antics of people like that pitiful Houston Astro player who upon winning the world series proposes marriage to his girl friend on national TV. Slips a vulgar size rock on the finger. What the fuck was he gonna do if they lost?? We are all being played for fools. The sports media is now disgusting. They should focus more on the SPORT and not the personalities.
Of course the paramount figure in The Asshole Age will always be Donald J. Trump. Really folks did any of us really think it would be so bad???
It seems that former four star marine general and now chief of staff John Kelly believes that the American Civil War could have been averted with more compromise and that "history is history" and you can't change it. All this dribble is Kelly's effort to stoke racial tension over the taking down of Confederate Monuments. It has become an issue in the hotly contested Virginia Governors race. Kelly also in an interview refused to apologize to the Congresswoman that he slandered. Perhaps her being black was just added incentive. You know folks I'll be honest and say I don't like men like John Kelly one little bit. I don't care for all these military assholes prancing around the White House. And a final question for General Kelly: How do you compromise in holding another person a slave???
The just completed week proved without a doubt that President Dotard is a certified sociopath. This sub-human monster dismantled the ACA thereby denying poor people healthcare. He threatened to stop aid to Puerto Rico that is still reeling from hurricane Maria and is rapidly becoming a national disgrace. He decertified a nuclear arms agreement with Iran and generally acted the part of a deranged madman. Indeed, while I try not to look at him because it makes me sick a quick glance does reveal a completely deranged thing. Of all things just mentioned the Puerto Rico situation if the most disturbing since it showcases Dotard's inherent racism. If the people in Iowa who voted for this cretin were ravaged by disaster Dotard would be moving heaven and earth to help them. Iowa has about the same population of PR the difference being 95% of Iowa is white. A little history lesson for Dotard is in order. The US military invaded PR in 1898 and took over the island. In 1917 the people of PR were granted US citizenship just in time to be drafted for World War 1. Indeed Puerto Ricans have served in the armed forces in large numbers in every war since. They are citizens and are being ignored by this president in times of extreme need. In fact not only ignored but INSULTED. This sub-human creep has no shame. He is truly a sociopath.
I haven't been posting much lately because every time I sit at the keyboard words just fail me. How I can I properly convey to my readers my utter contempt of Trump. He is sub human and with the latest revelations of his erratic behavior he is a threat to the survival of the world. Senator Corker let the cat out of the bag in recent days. Trump is on target to start a nuclear war that will kill millions. He must be removed. Sure we would be left with that scumbag phony Pence but he would still be an improvement. At least he is not mentally deranged. And for all those people who voted to Trump I do have the words: FUCK YOU
Dotard Dump is destroying the country. I don't want to hear the pious crap of commentators that America is strong and can withstand the mentally deranged lunatic in the Oval Office. We as a country are on the precipice of a disaster. Dotard will very likely start a nuclear war that will kill millions and pollute the world for generations. Forget the NFL stuff and concentrate on the real danger. Dotard Dump has the nuclear code and in a fit of rage he will likely plunge the world into darkness. His unhinged performance on Friday night is truly symptomatic of a crazy person. He was likely set off by lack of sufficient medication and knowledge that Mueller is closing in and that his days are numbered. Still this may take too long and allow Dotard to push the button. He must be removed NOW by any means available. The lives of millions and the future of the planet are at stake. This cannot go on any longer!!!!
—Florida was never supposed to be prime real estate. Is the borrowed time running out? “Great article from Michael Grunwald in Politico Magazine: ‘A Requiem for Florida, the Paradise That Should Never Have Been.’ He cites some really interesting history, noting that descriptions in the 1830s called Florida a muggy, swampy hellhole of a place. The consensus among the soldiers was that the U.S. should just leave the area to the Indians and the mosquitoes; as one general put it, ‘could not wish them all a worse place.’ Or as one lieutenant complained: “Millions of money has been expended to gain this most barren, swampy, and good-for-nothing peninsula.” But someone saw a chance to make money, so of course money had to be made, right? It’s the American way. But now the consequences are becoming evident. Most South Floridians don’t think much about climate change, either, even though it’s creating more intense storms, even though the rising seas around Miami Beach now flood low-lying neighborhoods on sunny days during high tide. People tend not to think too much about existential threats to the places they live. They just live.”
