I have commented on the irrelevance of the Winter Olympics, but yesterday with the death of a young man on a luge track that was just an accident waiting to happen is an outrage that deems comment. First off, what the hell is the luge doing in any sporting activity? It's a dangerous event left to those who want to risk their lives in foolish pursuit of thrills. Also, why the hell did they proceed with the opening festivities? The answer: money. And that's what the Olympics is all about. I hope NBC takes a bath.
