As the new work week begins the market will have to digest the Russian invasion of Georgia. It’s a major geo-political development that will impact the financial markets. Meanwhile President Bush is in China cavorting with U.S. athletes. By going to China and being so visible the president is helping the Chinese stage their big charade. But when someone owns a big piece of you I guess you have to be nice to them even if they are a bunch of thuggish creeps. Will be very interesting to see how the market sees the events in Georgia. On another note can’t say I’m surprised by John Edwards. My surprise is how anyone could have taken him seriously. The man is a total fraud. Too bad we don’t have an island that people like Edwards are exiled to. This island would have no mirrors or barbers.
