The war on smoking has reached new heights of absurdity. The Pentagon is considering banning the use of tobacco in the military. Can you imagine telling a soldier that may be dodging bullets and land mines that he or she can't light up to ease the tension. This is just crazy. I remember when I was in the service that cigarettes were included in C-rations. Now I'm not advocating a return to that practice but to deny our fighting men and women a smoke is just as crazy as a pack of smokes costing $10 dollars in NYC.
