Having spent a good part of the past weekend driving in the I-95 corridor I have concluded that there are just too many damn cars on the road. Of particular note was my horrible experience Friday night in leaving NYC at 5:30 on a rainy Friday night for NJ via the Holland Tunnel. Obviously many NJites who work in NYC drive there instead of taking mass transit. Mass transit is a no-brainer in the battle for energy independence. However, lots of people don't agree and continue to worship at the altar of the auto God. Included in that group is the fat slob governor of NJ Chris Christie who vetoed the building of another train tunnel between NJ and NY.
