Wacky Weather

I must confess to getting a little nervous.  Regular readers are aware that periodically I muse about the end of the world coming on December 21 of this year.  This prediction is based on the widely reported Mayan calendar which is known for its accuracy and the fact that after the 21st of December 2012 it just ends!!  Indeed, much of the references to 12-21-12 has been tongue in cheek but lately I'm beginning to think that just maybe the Mayans were on to something.  The weather across the the United States has basically been out of control with the current severe heat wave causing havoc.  The violent thunderstorms that ravaged a large portion of the East Coast on Friday were just the latest example of abnormal weather.  Also the horrible fires in Colorado due mainly to severe drought are another example of the extremes of recent weather.  On a worldwide basis there is no denying the increase in seismic activity that is producing more and more earthquakes. To be sure global warming is for real no matter what the Republicans may say and the weather is likely attributed to that phenomena.  The issue is whether or not global warming is and has been so severe that it will contribute to global Armageddon as early as December of this year?  Probably not but I still am a little nervous.
